OEM Dodge Spark Plugs

Whether you're behind the wheel of a Chrysler or Dodge, a Jeep or RAM, your vehicle's engine must burn fuel and oxygen to run. Its spark plugs are what ignite the mix and start the combustion process. How do spark plugs work, though? Stick your key in the lock cylinder. Now, turn it. Your ignition switch activates, and many other ignition parts start working. Your car battery, a solenoid, a starter motor, and an ignition coil, to name a few. Together, they produce an electrical charge, sending it to the plugs, whose leads capture it. When that happens, the air and gas inside your engine burn, and that generates power. A few pumps of your engine pistons and turns of your crankshaft later, your vehicle's many moving parts get going. Without spark plugs, though, it wouldn't start at all. To make matters worse, spark plugs can go bad. Their leads can widen, often as they rust. This can weaken their charges. Engine misfires and shutdowns can result. Broken spark plugs, though, usually result in severe engine cylinder damage. Luckily, those made by your OEM get built to last, for 100,000 miles or so. That's millions of ignitions. Just be sure you change any that are approaching their recommended mileage limit. You can usually find that in your owner's manual.
